Description

  • 27.2 cm, 10 3/4  in.
the pear-shaped body carved and painted with two peony sprays, the glaze stopping irregularly above the splayed foot revealing the body

Provenance

Collection of T.Y. Chao (1912-1999).

Condition

The vase is in general good condition. There are few chips to the mouth rim (the largest being a shallow chip approx. 1.8cm beneath the rim). There is a flake to the foot rim and a few minute flakes to the glaze around the neck all consistent with the type and age.
