Description

  • 5.8 cm, 2 1/4  in.
depicted with a phoenix standing above archaistic motifs on the top, its plumes draping along one side to the axe edge, a chilong flanking the other side of the axe

Condition

The plaque is in good condition. The tiny tip end of the tail of the phoenix cresting is polished at one corner, possibly to smoother a nick, but this could well be also original to the carving.
