the hair neatly drawn up in an intricate jatamakuta topped with a foliate finial, standing with eight arms holding various attributes, adorned with elaborate beaded jewellery

Condition

There is typical surface wear and oxidisation to the gilding. There is some light rubbing to the gilding on the face and chest. The figure is missing its original base, now attached to a modern wood base. One attribute is missing in her second lower right hand as visible on the catalogue photo.

Catalogue Note

This figure depicts Amoghapasha, Lord of the Unerring Noose, one of the popular interpretations in the Kathmandu Valley of the Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara.
