finely carved seated with one knee raised, his left hand supporting a sutra, clad in loose robes with the hems incised and gilt with lotus scroll, the folds in the robes with traces of original green pigments, set on a caramel-tone soapstone base simulating pierced rockwork, topped with a foliate mat incised and gilt with a wave ground

The figure is in overall good condition with expected minute bruises and nibbles to the base and surface wear to the underside.
