  • h. 18.1 cm, 7 1/8  in.
the flared body divided into six bracket-lobes between raised borders, supported on six feet of corresponding form, the well figured wood with an attractive deep chestnut brown patina

Condition

The brushpot is in overall good condition. The base may be a replacement since other brushpots of this form usually with a more naturalistic bordered-base in the form of lotus leaf. A zitan brushpot with similar base form to this lot is illustrated in "Hall of Mental Cultivation of The Palace Museum: Imperial Residence of Eight Emperors", Hong Kong, 2017, pl. 20.
