據《張大千在加州》一書中記載「在加州，他（張大千）創造了一些比較獨特的作品…他甚至還嘗試了在玻璃纖維板上作畫（即本拍品），因為其表面質感很像宣紙。然而，據作畫時在場的人回憶，這件作品很大一部分是畫家用自己的手指畫的。但張大千在作畫時卻不小心被板上的纖維割傷了手指，所以他說以後再也不會在玻璃纖維板上創作了。」是以此件乃大千以玻璃纖維板為介質創作的絕無僅有的一件特殊作品。
