Acquired in China between 1894 and 1922.
Thence in the family by descent.

Condition

The robe is in good overall condition. The black border and some areas of the turquoise silk are slightly insolated. There are some very minute tears to the silk. All the buttons are missing. The inside is lined with yellow silk.The colours are less saturated and the sleeves whiter than the catalogue illustration suggests.
