This work appears to be in generally good overall condition. There are two minor losses to the centre of the left edge visible in the catalogue illustration. There are wearing traces by the lower corners and by the upper right corner. No traces of retouching appear to visible under UV light.

Com'è per tutti i compagni di via di quella vicenda, per i quali il magistero Lucio Fontana vale più da riferimento carismatico che stretttamente concettuale o modale, nella formazione concorrono moventi plurimi, dalla prioritaria lezione surrealista a un'attenzione all'art autre di largo spettro, svariante dalla macerazione plastica e cromatica di Giacometti ai sovratoni gestuali di Cobra."

"The appearance of Emilio Scanavino on the Milanese scene, with a solo show at the Naviglio gallery in 1955, coincides with a peak moment of the space experience, as it is for all the comrades on the path of that affair, for whom the Lucio Fontana's teaching is worth more than a charismatic reference that is strictly conceptual or modal; in formation, multiple motives are involved, from the priority surrealist lesson to an attention to the wide-ranging art, deviating from the plastic and chromatic maceration of Giacometti to the gestural overtones of Cobra."
