Condition

It has not been possible to see the work entrely unframed. The canvas is not lined and slightly undulating. Examination under UV light reveals one small line (approx. 2 cm long) and two small dots of retouching in the light blue pigment in the lower part of the sky. There are a few further smaller dots of retouching in the upper part of the sky and along the extreme edges. There is a small vertical thin line (approx. 2 cm long) of retouching, possibly related to a repaired tear, towards the centre of the upper edge. There is some minor paint shrinkage, most predominately in the green and blue pigments towards the centre of both left and upper edges. There are a few scattered fly spots. There is some minor frame rubbing along the extreme edges. Impasto is rich and well preserved. This work is in overall good condition.
