Condition
There is frame abrasion at edges and surface cracking most visible in the umbrella.The work appears to be slightly dirty and there is a small nick in the panel at lower right corner. Under UV: there is inpainting to frame abrasion, a small area at upper right corner and a small dash of inpainting in the sand to the right of the woman's chair.

The present work was painted on the island of Corsica, where Frieseke and his wife resided from December 1912 through the spring of 1913.
