The canvas has been laid on board. The board is somewhat concave but appears to be stable. There are very minor small spots of paint loss in the extreme left framing edge and in the upper left corner. Ultra-violet light reveals a circa 7cm line of retouching with small strokes around it in the lower right corner, possibly addressing an old repair, and small strokes in the white pigments of the figure's face. A thin, horizontal line of retouching is also visible across the figure's hair although residual varnish makes the surface difficult to read.
This work is ready to hang.
