Condition

The panel has been reinforced with a horizontal wooden baton in the lower half, on the reverse. The panel appears to be flat, even, and ensuring a stable support. There is a fine pattern of hairline craquelure throughout, notably in the sky. However this is not too distracting. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals an uneven layer of residual varnish, notably in the lower half of the composition, which makes the surface difficult to read. However, some lines of in-painting addressing the aforementioned craquelure are visible in the lower half. Otherwise, this work is overall in good condition and presents very well. This work is ready to hang. Presented in a decorative, gilt frame.
