Condition

The canvas has not been lined and is securely attached to a keyed wooden stretcher which appears to be of the period. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals a few minor, isolated spots of cosmetic retouching addressing old paint flaking, including some spots in the top of the cypress in the centre of the composition and one spot in the rose bush in the lower right quadrant. One small area of retouching is also visible in the grass in the centre of the composition (also patched on the reverse). Otherwise, this work is in good condition and is ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate.
