Overall, the condition of the bronze is good, with some dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are some nicks and scratches to the bronze, including to the edges of the truncation, and to an area at the proper right shoulder to the back. There is slight rubbing to the patina at some of the high points, including to the tip of the nose, to the proper right cheek, and to some of the locks of hair. There is a reattachment to the marble base at the top and glue residue is visible. There are chips to the top edge of the base throughout. There are some scuff marks and some dark staining to the socle. There are further chips and abrasions to the edges of the socle. Otherwise the condition of the socle is stable.
