Overall, the condition of the marble is very good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are a few very minor chips to the edges of the man's headdress, and possibly to the points of some of the locks of hair at the back. There is minor veining to the marble, consistent with the material, including to the man's hip and upper thigh on the proper left side, and to his proper left arm. There are a few naturally occurring dark inclusions, including to the water at the centre of the base and to the man's proper left leg below the knee and at the shin, to the proper left buttock, and to the proper right ankle.
