- Japanese School, Meiji Period
comprising a painting of a crane, ink on silk, 27 by 24cm.; nine woodblock prints on paper of Geishas, largest 38 by 25cm., four further woodblock prints and two (double-sided) printed reproductions of Indo-Persian paintings from the 16th century
Condition
The ink on silk of cranes has discoloured with signs of foxing.
One woodblock print of geisha held in a mount, not laid down. Some creases and slightly discoloured but sound overall. The remaining Geisha prints not laid down, in different states of distress, some with more foxing and wear than others. The remainder sound.
