Literature

Dunbar, sales catalogue, Berne, circa 1960, n.p.

Condition

The sofa is in overall very good condition. The vinyl upholstery is original and in good, clean condition. There is minor wear and surface dirt in recessed areas as well as the exterior edges of the adjustable arms as is consistent with age and gentle use. There is a minor loss (1/4in.) to the upholstery to the reverse as well as a small series of nicks along the bottom edge of the sofa back. The vinyl with a semi-aniline texture which is difficult to discern in the catalogue illustration. The wooden legs present with minor surface scratches, nicks and scattered minor abrasions, consistent with age and gentle use. The pins surrounding the brass adjustment knob on the proper right side could be more secure. Overall it's a wonderfully functional couch with a timeless mid-century aesthetic that is characteristic of Wormley for Dunbar.
