Condition

Overall color and condition are good, light natural wear to surfaces and extremities commensurate with age and use. The seats and backs of each have been professionally reupholstered in dark grey wool with leather piping where the upholstery meets the frame. The frames of each have been lightly cleaned and applied with a light varnish. Chair One: There is minor age separation to top of where back arm joint attaches to back leg, and slight/minor area of professional infill where back leg attaches to arm. Chair Two: There is a small dowel approximately ¼ inches in diameter inserted to the side of each of the back legs parallel with the back rest. This may have been where previously strengthening rods had been fitted to secure the back rest to the back legs. There is a small infill repair where one of the arms attaches to the top of the back rest support. There is a splice repair to the opposing arm just beneath the joint where it attaches to the backrest upright. There is minor age separation to the inside edge of one arm, but this appears stable and is not visually obtrusive. An iconic design by Finn Juhl presenting with with attractive color and patina, and each retaining a firm structure and ready for use in the home.
