Catalogue Note

The reference 6262, as well as its cousin 6264, had the shortest production period and were available only for approximately two years, between the very end of the 1960's and 1972.

The reference 6262 can be considered as the bridge between the early and the late vintage Rolex Daytona models. Indeed, it combines the button pushers such as the 6239, the first Daytona, and the 727 Valjoux calibre, the final evolution of the movement were also housed in the 6263 and 6265 models.

The present watch features the "Paul Newman" dial which is regarded as the most iconic of vintage sport watches, it was named after the actor was presumed to have worn one in the 1969 while promoting the film 'Winning

the bi-colour grainé "panda" dial is clean and extremely well preserved. The watch is equipped with its original 7835 bracelet with 271 end links.

The watch comes from the original owner, who purchased it new over 45 years ago while studying in Switzerland.
