The canvas appears original, but undulates in places. There are some fine lines of craquelure visible to the black pigment of the figures, with some further very fine lines of craquelure visible elsewhere, including one or two to the buildings. There is a very small fleck of possible loss in the lower left corner. There is some surface dirt and matter in places. Subject to the above the work is in good overall condition. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals no obvious signs of fluorescence or restoration. The work is presented in a carved and painted wooden frame.
