Catalogue Note

This table could possibly be that which Vivien had in the dining room at 6 Little Stanhope Street in Mayfair. This small Queen Anne cottage was her home with her first husband Leigh Holman (and from whom she took her stage name). 'The dining-room on the ground floor was more traditional with its panelling, oval gate-legged table and dark green curtains edged with silver brocade' (Vickers, op. cit, p. 39).
