Condition

Original canvas. Some rubbing and abrasion visible along the left and right hand framing edges. There is some craquelure to the sitter's dress in the lower centre of the composition visible upon close inspection. Slightly discoloured layer of surface varnish and some specks of surface varnish. Otherwise the work appears to be in fair condition. UV light inspection reveals retouching to the figure's left hand arm and hand and to her right wrist and hand. Held in a decorative gilt frame.
