Condition
The canvases are both lined, the paint surfaces are clean and the varnishes are clear and even. There is a more pronounced, slightly raised area of craquelure in the sky upper centre of the former. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals areas of retouching in the sky in both paintings, in the former notably centre left and upper right, and in the latter notably upper right and along the right margin, which are just visible to the naked eye. In both paintings there are small patches scattered in the architecture, notably on the right margin in the former, and in the upper left corner of the latter. Offered in plain gilt wood frames in good condition.
