Description

  • Walnut, poplar, pine
  • 81cm. high, 138cm. wide, 61cm. deep; 2ft. 8in., 4ft. 6¼in., 2ft.
of pronounced bombé outline, the serpentine top above three drawers, on a scrolled and pierced apron, raised on short cabriole legs

Condition

An attractive piece in need of professional attention. Overall marks and scratches consistent with age and use, and traces of old woodworm, which appears to be no longer active. Areas of discoloration and opacity to varnish. Visible traces of restoration to the burr veneer of top. Two secure breaks - one restored - to the moulded border of top. Overall shrinkage to front drawers and bombe corners, with lifting to veneer, and cracks visible in the catalogue photograph. The corners, in particular, are in need of professional attention. Scuffing and worm damage to feet.
