  • bronze, on a modern wood base
  • Italian, dated 1743
dated: 1743 and inscribed: IL / GIGANTE and with the coat of arms of the Riva-Finoli family, Milan

Condition

There is a loss to the cannon at the front on one side, and there is a slightly open but stable fissure at the front on the other side. There are minor nicks and scratches throughout. There are a few very small lacunae, consistent with casting. There is particular dirt in the crevices. There is a small hole at the top towards the back of the cannon. The wood stand is in good condition.
