Condition

Overall, the condition of the bronzes is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are minor nicks and chips, in particular to the top rim of both mortars. There are nicks to the pestles throughout. There is greening to the smaller mortar throughout. There is minor spotting to both mortars. There is an area of minor corrosion to the smaller mortar at the lower rim.
