each variously decorated with shaped panels enclosing figures amongst interiors, divided by birds and flowers within shaped cartouches, all reserved on a dense gilt ground of floral scrolls, the covers with matching decoration, whicker carrying cases

Possibly acquired by George Forbes (1849-1936) in China

Condition

The larger teapot and cover are in very good condition with the exception of some light rubbing to the gilded decoration; the smaller teapot has a break to the spout, a chip to the tip of the spout and a chip to the edge of the cover.
