Condition
The canvas is lined, the paint surface is relatively clean and the varnish is slightly discoloured. Inspection under ultraviolet light is impeded by an opaque, milky varnish, but reveals a very small retouching, lower left, and fine, hairline retouchings to reduce the appearance of craquelure in other areas of the painting, such as the upper part of the sitter's proper left arm. In overall very good condition. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame in very good condition.
