Description
- ivory, kingwood, satinwood, boxwood
- 116cm. high., 74cm. wide., 43cm. deep; 3ft. 9½in., 2ft. 4¼in., 1ft. 5¼in.
the superstructure with a compartment flanked by cupboards inlaid with oval stringing, both fitted with small ivory mounted drawers one of which fitted for ink bottles, above a folding writing surface inlaid with green baise over a drawer on square tapering legs

Probably Sir William Forbes, 6th Bt. (1739-1806) or Lady Elizabeth Hay Forbes (1750-1802)
Condition
This fine piece is in good order however, there are marks and losses to polish on flat surfaces, some retouching to these areas, some losses to ebony stringing. Some collars lacking to the top of each leg. Probably acquired by Sir William, 6th Bt. or his wife when new in the 18th century.
