Description

the Spode jug painted in the Imari palette with underglaze-blue flower sprays highlighted in iron-red and gilding, Spode Stone-China mark in underglaze-blue, pattern number 2053 in iron-red, 17cm., 6 3/4 in. high, the Wedgwood part-service painted in a similar Imari palette with flowering branches with bands of diaper pattern at the rims, comprising a butter tub and cover on fixed stand, two breakfast cups and 23 saucers in three sizes, impressed WEDGWOOD marks, incised square marks, various painted numerals, underglaze-blue mark (28)

Condition

The spode jug with hairline crack to spout. The Wedgwood service: the two cups with a hairline crack. the smallest saucers, three cracked with some glaze crazing and associated staining, the largest saucers, one cracked, three chipped. Otherwise some scattered glaze crazing typical of the material.
