- The Council of the Gods and the Marriage of Cupid and Psyche
- Both pen and brown ink and wash heightened with white, each drawn over two sheets of paper
- Each 11½in by 31in
Condition
The Council of the Gods: drawn over two sheets of paper laid down on canvas. A number of nicks and tears around the edges. Water stain along the left margin and lower margin. Surface dirt. Medium still strong and vibrant.
Marriage of Cupid and Psyche: Sheet has not been laid down. Drawn over two sheets of paper. There are a number of small holes along the upper edge of the sheet and there is a hole in the lower left corner. Some water staining. Medium remains strong and vibrant.
Both sold in carved and gilded frames, possibly English 18th Century.
