- Fourteen, twelve silhouettes, two watercolour;
three signed, the majority inscribed with sitter's names - Various sizes
including a portrait of John Belsches-Wishart, later Sir John Stuart, 4th Bt. of Fettercairn (1752-1821) (2); Lady Jane Stuart, née Leslie-Melville (1753-1829) (2); Willamina Wishart-Belsches, later Lady Forbes (c. 1776-1810); Harriet Williamina Forbes, later Lady Clinton (1835-1869); John, 7th Marquess of Lothian (1794-1841); Alexander Belsches; Sarah Wilson; three ladies (one by George Bingham, another by Alexander[?] Hope of Whitehaven); and two gentleman (by George Bruce and by J*** Howie)
Condition
The works in this lot are in fair condition. There is general surface dirt and one work is missing its glass and the surface is therefore scratched. Two silhouettes have cracked.
