Condition
This miniature is in good condition. In raking light it is possible to make out some subtle foxmarks. The glass is a little dirty.

Catalogue Note
The sitter was the younger brother of Alexander Hepburn Murray Belsches of Invermay and Balmanna Castle (see the preceding lot). He served in the peninsula war and rose to the rank of Major-General in 1855. We would like to thank Neil Jeffares for his help when cataloguing this work.
