Catalogue Note

AN UNCOMMON WORK after Michel-François Preault, an engineer and architect, resident in Constantinople from 1796 until at least 1827. Employed to construct new army and navy barracks there, he also hired himself out as a draughtsman to travellers, and his illustrations are to be found in works by Andreossy and others.
