Catalogue Note

THE BRADLEY MARTIN COPY. As the title indicates, this work was intended to supplement that of Levaillant and Bourjot Saint-Hilaire. It was issued in large quarto and folio formats in twelve livraisons when publication ceased (the work was supposed to comprise thirty livraisons). The first fifteen plates by Blanchard have both the birds and the branches coloured, while the branches are left uncoloured in the remaining plates by Daverne. The final plate is misnumbered LXXIX as usual.
