  • A brass prismatic surveying compass by Stanley (Gt. Turnstile, Holborn, London), sights fitted with a 'Schmalcalder' type 90 degree folding prism on one side, and a folding rectangular frame (with thread) on the other, engraved on the side "Capt. F. Younghusband", in a fitted leather case (numbered in ink '846' on each side)

Believed to have belonged to Lieut.-Colonel Sir Francis Younghusband (1863-1942); thence by descent to his daughter Eileen Younghusband DBE (1902-1981)
