Condition

The canvas has been lined. There are some fine isolated lines of stable craquelure. Ultra-violet light reveals areas of discoloured varnish which make the surface quite difficult to read. However, there are some scattered spots of strengthening visible notably in the horse and in the tree trunk in the foreground. The picture is otherwise in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame. Colours are slightly brighter than in the catalogue illustration.
