Condition

This picture is overall in good condition, presents very well and is ready to hang. The panel is flat, even, and ensuring a stable support. There are some scattered lines of stable craquelure. Ultra-violet light reveals some fine lines of in-painting in the aforementioned craquelure, intermittent strokes along the extreme framing edges, and some very small scattered spots including in the standing figures and in the white horse in the right hand side of the composition. As in the cataloguing, this work bears signature which appears to fluoresce when inspected under ultra-violet light. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate. The greens are somewhat brighter than in the catalogue illustration.
