each painted on one side with a fête galante, on the other with architectural views in bucolic landscapes, signed G. Poitevin, within elaborate gilt cartouches incorporating various shades of purple and green, the undersides of the covers with spurious blue interlaced LL marks and FRANCE in red
Condition
Each in overall very good condition and presentation. The porcelain is very nice with excellent color and gilding. The covers in great condition, with little wear to the gilt edges of the rim. The bronze mounts quite discolored, showing traces of gilt to the recesses suggesting significant loss to the gilding. The mounts also showing traces of tarnish and verdigris to recesses.
