after an eighteenth-century model by Johann Joachim Kändler, the double-walled tureen richly gilt on the interior and applied on the exterior with putti and garlands, painted on either side with a topographical panel and affixed on either end with a female bust handle, the cover molded and painted with Kakiemon flowers on the underside and on either side of the coronet knop with the arms of Poland and Saxony, crossed swords marks in underglaze-blue, numeral 8 in gilding.
Condition
Some overall very minor and very occasional areas where the gilding has rubbed.
The cover: The cross at the very top of the finial is restored. The tureen: There is restoration to all three feathers on the female bust's head on one handle; it is possible that the section with the hairdress was off and restored bacl; the other handle has restoration to one feather, possibly covering a chip. There are occasional and minor chips or restored chips to the edges of white applied floral swags. Otherwise in good condition.
