Catalogue Note

Zhang Dali is widely known as one of the first graffiti artists in Beijing. He used three distinctive tags: an outline of his bald head, representing himself as well as an abstract person, ”AK-47" as a tag to express violence, and "18K" to symbolize wealth. He continues to be an influential figure in Chinese socio-political art movements today.
