A l'oeil nu, le tableau apparaît dans un état de conservation relativement satisfaisant. il a fait l'objet d'un réentoilage ancien, réalisé dans la première moitié du XXe siècle et qui a un peu tassé la matière. On remarque très légèrement la trame de la toile du fait de la légèreté de la préparation. Ceci ne gêne pas la lecture de l'oeuvre. Le tableau a un vernis sale. A la lampe UV : le tableau apparaît sous un vernis vert uniforme. On remarque deux restaurations circulaires de 8 ou 10 cm de diamètre dans le ciel à droite. On remarque également deux restaurations dans l'eau à droite de la barque. Quelques reprises dans le ciel. To the naked eye : the painting is in a reasonably good condition. It has been recanvassed in the first half of the XXth century which flattened a bit the surface. We can see the bare thread of the canvas because of the very light preparation. It does not disturb the general aspect of the painting. The painting is under a dirty varnish. Under the UV light the painting is under an uniformly green varnish. We can see two 10 cm diameter restorations in the sky at the right of the composition. We can also see two restorations in the water right to the boat. Few minor restorations in the sky.
