Catalogue Note

Carpeaux modelled numerous sketches of nude women later described as "frileuses" and "baigneuses". Our sketch with her legs brought back towards her and her bust bent is close to a terracotta in the Petit-Palais museum. (inv. n° P.P.S. 1619).
