Hanger “S,” Capsules 12B, 15A, 17 & 20 (Altitude Chamber) blueprint, McDonnell Aircraft Corp., April 25, 1960, 18 by 73 inches, half scale of master drawing.

Condition

18 1/4 x 73 inches. Annotations in pen and marker, and some browning along folds on far right of blueprint; occasional minor splitting at folds, and occasional wear to edges.

Two drawings of the Mercury spacecraft are illustrated, one related to the overall placement in the Altitude Chamber and the other detailing the various electrical interfaces. All of these interfaces are mapped via routing lines to their associated junction or terminal boxes located at a check-out or telemetry vans (large trailers). Tie-ins to the check-out and telemetry equipment vans are shown. An early blueprint of the hangar facilities located at Cape Canaveral, Florida, devoted to the Mercury Program.
