Description

well potted with shallow rounded sides resting on a short foot, covered overall with a lustrous black glaze densely infused with russet-toned speckles, the glaze stopping short of the lower body and foot, the unglazed part applied with a dark brown slip to conceal the pale grey body

Condition

Two adjacent chips forming a semi-circle have been broken off and sympathetically restored to the rim measuring approx. 4.5 cm with an associated hairline crack in the middle.
