Condition

The sculpture appears sound, and is comprised of two elements which fit together. There is some slight rubbing to the edges of the work in places. There are a few very light, minor scratches on the outside edge, only visible upon close inspection, and there is an area of slight rubbing to the centre of the shoulder of the smaller element. There is some oxidisation to the lower elements at the reverse of the work, most apparent in the crevices of the work, with a few small further spots elsewhere. The patina is slightly uneven in places in both elements, and there is some light surface dirt in the crevices of the bronze, including a spot to the reverse of the work. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The sculpture is freestanding. Please telephone the department on 0044 207 293 6424 if you have any questions.
