Condition

The sculpture is sound, and is very slightly loose on its base. The bronze leans very slightly to one side. There are some very small pits marks to the surface in places, thought to be in keeping with the casting process. There are a few light surface scratches above the lower element, with some small light scuffs and scratches elsewhere in places, only visible upon close inspection. Subject to the above the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The bronze is attached to a stone base with a single bolt. There are several minor chips to the base, most apparent along the front edge. Please telephone the department on +44 207 293 6424 if you have any questions.
