Condition

The bowl: Two hairline cracks (14-cm and 13-cm, respectively) running from chips at the rim to the center of the bowl. Adhesive applied approximately halfway around the exterior rim. Minor manufacturing flaws, including scattered small iron spots, and kiln grit (particularly near the interior rim). The base painted in red and orange: "118 2 -F". Three old labels applied to the base: "NH6186 大ツツ八"; "No 92 Fitz-Gerald Dec. 18. 1911 Chinese"; "Sung 960 1279". An old label applied to the well: "118 2". The ewer: The spout, one strap handle, and a 2.5 x 5-cm section of the mouth all reattached (the old repairs have darkened to a tan color). Wear to the surface throughout. Minor manufacturing flaws include small glaze gaps, small iron spots, and some passages of yellowed over-fired glaze. The base painted in orange: " 84 2 -F"; "30 A". Two old labels applied to the exterior: "84 2"; "39" (part of this label missing).
