comprising an oval plaque carved to one side with a large lotus blossom at the center surrounded by scrolling vines, the amber a honey-orange tone; and a circular pendant carved to both sides with shou characters encircled by bats and geometric bands, the side carved with floral scrolls, also of honey-orange hue (2)

Condition

The plaque with chips to the edge and back, largest is to the back approx. 1 x 1.2-cm. Smooth depressions to the sides and back, largest is to the back approx. 1.2 x 2.2-cm. Pierced with a small hole at the center of each side. The pendant missing most of the loop from which it was suspended; abraded wear to the loop area from use. The body of the pendant in mostly good condition with only scattered minute chips, especially to the edges. A circular amber plug (approx. 7 mm diameter) inserted at the end opposite the loop, the adhesive securing it darkened with age.
