the smiling rotund deity seated in rajalilasana, crowned with a six-point diadem, the proper right hand resting on the raised right knee holding a mala, with a small hound seated near the hem of the robe

Provenance

Collection of Major Oswald Stanhope Benbow-Rowe (1890-1940), and thence by descent.

Condition

In overall good condition with wear to the gilding and expected surface wear. With casting flaws including minor losses to the back, the largest an oval loss at the back of the head below the crown and measuring approximate 1.3 cm wide.There is no base plate and the interior cavity has some oxidation. The back has remnants of a lacquer layer below the gilding.
